Lea Moalemi, Esq., is an Associate Attorney with Barrows Levy, PLLC practicing in all areas of matrimonial and family law.  Understanding the challenges her clients face during a divorce and other family matters, Lea zealously advocates for her client’s needs in their most challenging times and approaches every case with empathy and compassion to ensure their needs are met. Lea regularly counsels clients involving complex divorce, business valuations, spousal maintenance, custody matters, child support, collaborative divorce, mediations, orders of protection, parental coordination, access and visitation, post-judgment matters, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, separation agreements, and other family disputes.

Prior to joining the firm, Lea worked at various renowned Matrimonial and Family Law Firms and interned for the Honorable Stacy D. Bennett, J.S.C., Matrimonial Judge of the Nassau County Supreme Court, where she worked closely with the Judge who presides over divorce actions and post-judgment matrimonial matters including, equitable distribution, maintenance, custody, parenting time, contempt matters and child support.

Notably, as a graduate of the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, she received her Juris Doctorate Degree with a Concentration in Family Law and a certificate deeming her as a Certified Divorce Mediator. She also served as the Executive Research Editor for the Family Court Review Law Journal at Hofstra and her note tilted Blood Will Not Justify My Relation: Same-Sex Couples and their Battle for Standing as De Facto Parents was published in Association of Family and Conciliation Courts Journal, which appears in the July 2018 Edition.

Lea regularly attends continuing legal education seminars in the areas of matrimonial and family law and is a member of the The New York Family Law American Inns of Court and the Nassau County Bar Association, Matrimonial Committee so that she is always kept up-to-date on all developments in the law.
